Whitby has lots of events during the year with Angling Festivals to Moor and Coast Festivals there always seems to be something to do. The most main events for the calander for Whitby are Whitby Regatta, the two Gothic Festivals, Northern Soul Music Weekend, Whitby 60's music weekend and Whitby Folk Week there is plenty of options for you to choose from when planning your visit to Whitby.

Whitby Regatta

Whitby Regatta has been running for nearly 170 years, the Regatta runs over 3 days with lots of Yacht & Rowing competitions, an Air Sea Rescue, a World War 2 air display, the Red Arrows air display, a display from each of the Armed Forces, Classic Car Rally, a fantastic Carnival on the final day finished with world class fireworks making sure these three days are bustling with activities for you to enjoy.

Whitby Goth Weekend

Gothic Festival is held twice a year now due to its popularity, with Dracula's connection to Whitby and the gothic feel to the Abbey making Whitby the perfect town to hold the two festivals.It has since grown into one of the most popular gothic events in the world, attracting attendees from across the UK and around the world. It has been running over 17 years and a must to see for all the extravagant costumes and events that happen during the weekend.

Whitby Folk Week

Britain’s premier folk festival with seven days and nights in celebration of traditional music, song and dance of the British Isles. Folk Week is a huge week long festival with bands, dance teams, story tellers and singers filling the streets and pubs of Whitby with wonderful entertainment and sounds and some wonderful costumes and sights to be seen. A vibe not to be missed by any lover of music!
